No Mauna a Wākea is a collaboration between friends Jonah K. Solatorio, Holeka Inaba, Pat and Scarlet Eskildsen, who came together for one common cause to honor, support and create awareness for Mauna Kea located on Hawai'i Island.
Beyond Mauna Kea's significance to our culture and people in the current day, it serves as a beacon of unification for the people of Hawai'i.
Mauna Kea is a catalyst for greater awareness and caring for our sacred places across our pae ʻāina.
No matter how much or how little you have committed to the movement of aloha ʻāina, we each have a kuleana and a way to kōkua causes like this.
This mele serves as a makana to our kanaka both near and far who care for our honua. ~Holeka Inaba
HE MAMO AU
He mamo au no Pu’uhuluhulu
I ka malu a o Mauna a Wākea
Mauna ki’eki’e noho i ke kapu
Kapukapu ke aloha a nā kia’i ʻŌ hānau ka mauna a Kea
ʻOpuʻu aʻe ka mauna a Kea (x2)
Kū kia’i mauna me ka lōkahi
Kahi hanohano a nā kūpuna
Pulama mau ‘ia e ka wahine
Poli’ahu ka wahine i kapa hau ʻO Wākea ke kāne, ʻo Papawalinuʻu ka wahine (x2)

Kīlepalepa ka hae i ka makani
E welo mau ana ku’u ha’aheo
Waipuna lau ke aloha kānaka
Eō e Maunakea ku’u ‘āina ē Hānau Hoʻohōkū, he wahine
Hānau Hāloa, he aliʻi (x2) Hānau ka mauna a Kea
He keiki Mauna a Kea (x2) He mamo au no Pu’uhuluhulu
I ka malu a o Mauna a Wākea Eō e Maunakea

I am a descendant of Pu’uhuluhulu
In the protection of Mauna a Wākea
Sacred mountain standing majestically
With the reverent love of the protectors
We must guard the mountain with unity
A honored place of our beloved ancestors
You will forever be treasured by the goddess
Oh Poli’ahu in her blanket of white snow

The Hawaiian flag flutters in the wind
Like the pride that continually waves
The affection from the people abounds
Answer Maunakea, our land to behold
